Drahi is thinking of selling Altice Portugal. What assets does it have in the country?

A market-leading operator, with infrastructure across the country and an innovation hub that exports technology to the world. These are some of the stars of the “Altice galaxy” that make Altice Portugal a potentially attractive business for investors. Having given up on doing so in 2021, Patrick Drahi, the millionaire who controls the Altice group, has put the Portuguese operation up for sale again, a transaction that could change the structure of the sector this year, perhaps even across the Iberian Peninsula.

There is no official information about the sale of Altice Portugal, which says it accounts for 6,000 direct jobs and 15,000 indirect ones. The press has reported that the opportunity has caught the attention of funds such as Apollo, Apax, CVC Capital Partners and, most notably, Warburg Pincus, with which the former banker António Horta Osório is said to be involved.
